Sormiou
The cove of Sormiou is one of the many coves of the coast of Marseille.
This is particularly a popular climbing site, however, remains the main that of En-vau.
The cove is one of Sormiou creeks the most known and most frequented by the people of Marseilles. Access is guarded because the road that leads to this peaceful haven is well hidden, as if Marseille reserved his greatest treasures for connoisseurs. The inlet of Sormiou is easily accessible to vehicles outside the summer season but the coolest is the discovery on foot from the Parc des Baumettes. On then accessed by the Cayolle or Baumettes. The first spell when you go to Sormiou is the climb to the Col de Sormiou. The place has beautiful lie just minutes from the town road leading to it like a mountain pass. The arrival of the neck provided a view over the sea and islands (Riou, Plane and Jairus).
Feature of this small creek: it is inhabited (about a hundred huts) and conceals a small harbor protected by a breakwater. The second feature, most striking is the quality of the water is turquoise shades quite unthinkable in the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, the creek of Sormiou was devastated by fire in the summer of 1998.
