Morgiou
Access: From Marseille
- By car, the district Mazarues (towards the Baumettes and Morgiou). Road closed in the summer and weekends in spring and autumn.
- By bus: No. 22 to the Baumettes / No. 23 to the end-of Morgiou Beauvallon
- On foot: 45 min walk from the terminus
The cove of Morgiou is a small typical fishing port, inhabited by a few locals. Nearby, the creek is home to the Tripe Cosquer cave whose entrance is located 37 m below the surface. Discovered in 1991 by Henri Cosquer, the underground cave habrite prehistoric paintings dating from 27 000 to 19 000 BC, and represent animals both terrestrial and marine (bison, goats, horses, seals, penguins ...) .
